FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
In winter Huatulco's temperatures range from a daytime high of 28-32 degrees C (84-89 degrees F) to evening lows of 20-22 degrees C (69-72 degrees F). Spring and summer temperatures can be hotter and more humid. Warm weather casual clothing is acceptable everywhere. Shorts, short sleeve shirts, sundresses and sandals are commonly worn. An extra swim suit is always useful, as is sunscreen. Insect repellent is recommended for horseback riding, jungle and plantation tours. We suggest bringing sun hats and sunglasses although straw hats and various caps from our local markets make nice souvenirs. A light sweater and long pants are essential only if you are going to the City of Oaxaca.

WHAT ABOUT MEDICAL EMERGENCIES?
Huatulco is fortunate to have a civilian and a Naval Hospital both of which are available to visitors. Moreover, we also have several private clinics offering diverse medical specialties; several of these doctors and dentists are fluent in English and a few also speak French. Scuba divers will be interested to learn that the Naval Hospital has recently installed a state of the art decompression chamber.

IS IT SAFE?
You bet it is. It is likely much safer in Huatulco than your own home town. We feel safe walking almost anywhere day and night (common sense prevailing).

CAN I DRINK THE WATER?
Agua Azul la Villa provides purified bottled water. All food and beverage providers in Huatulco use purified water and ice in drinks. Due to the importance that the government has placed on tourism growth in this area, the public health authorities diligently inspect the water and ice purification plants.

HOW DO I FIND TOURS AND ACTIVITIES?
Your hosts will be pleased to make recommendations and reservations for you on the activities of your choice and can recommend the most professional restaurants, shows, and tours.
